Frequently Asked Questions

  • August Axel Jewelry Studio offers hands-on jewelry experiences and instruction for all skill levels. Our services include beginner-friendly jewelry classes and technique-based workshops, private lessons, group and private events, and our Wedding Band Experience, where couples create their rings together in the studio.

We also offer select jewelry services and custom work opportunities, depending on project scope. If you have something specific in mind, feel free to reach out and we’re happy to let you know what’s possible.

  • Getting started is easy — just choose a class or experience that interests you and book your spot online by making a deposit.

If you’re new to jewelry making, we recommend starting with one of our beginner-friendly classes, where you’ll learn foundational techniques while creating your first pieces. All tools and materials are provided, so you can simply show up ready to learn and have fun.

From there, you can continue exploring new techniques one class at a time, building skills and confidence as you go.

  • We believe learning jewelry should feel welcoming, focused, and genuinely fun — not intimidating or overwhelming.

Our classes are built around a no-failure approach, where mistakes are simply part of learning. Small class sizes mean everyone receives personal guidance, and every “whoops” moment becomes a chance to build real skills and confidence.

We also keep our workshops focused and practical. Sessions are intentionally limited in length (no marathon classes here) because brains get foggy and bums get numb. Instead, we focus on one class, one technique, one deep learning experience, so you leave with skills you actually remember and can use again.

We’re also big believers in sharing knowledge, not guarding it. There are no long-term contracts or expensive commitments designed to lock you in — just classes designed to teach you well and send you home excited to keep creating.

And most importantly, we make sure to have fun along the way.

  • No one fails here, and no one gets left behind. Our small class sizes allow us to give each student plenty of personal guidance, so you’re supported every step of the way.

We also use materials chosen specifically for learning, so there’s no stress if something melts, scratches, or goes a little sideways. Every “whoopsie” becomes a teachable moment, not a point of embarrassment, helping you build real skills and confidence along the way.

Most students arrive convinced they’re not creative or good with their hands, and leave surprised by what they achieved.

  • Honestly, it’s a lot of fun. Our instructors are genuinely kind, patient, and invested in helping each student reach their goals, whether it’s making a first piece or building new skills.

We also work hard to keep the studio a safe and welcoming space — from good studio practices and careful instruction to making sure everyone feels comfortable asking questions and trying something new. Most students leave surprised by how much they learned and how much they enjoyed the process.

  • In our classes and experiences, you’ll learn real jewelry-making skills while creating something with your own hands. Depending on the workshop, you may learn how to:

    • Size and shape rings or wire
    • Saw, texture, and form metal
    • Solder and safely use a jeweler’s torch
    • Techniques for setting various stone shapes and sizes
    • Finish and polish your jewelry professionally

Classes focus on building foundational techniques you can use again, not just making a single piece. Beginners are always welcome, and we guide you step by step so you leave with both new skills and confidence to keep creating.

  • While we began in the creative heart of Los Angeles, August Axel Jewelry Studio is now located in Peachtree City, Georgia, just southwest of Atlanta.

The move hasn’t slowed things down — we regularly welcome students who drive in from neighboring states or even fly in to attend classes and experiences. Whether you’re coming from down the street or a few states away, we work hard to make your time in the studio truly worth the trip.

We love to answer questions, so please fire-away! It’s a pleasure to share our knowledge.

Classes are broken into techniques-based units, so you choose what’s most interesting to you and best for your creative goals.

Seriously, if a class is longer than 4.5 hours, your brain and butt will become numb. And, you have a life so we don’t ask for long-term commitments.

You should find tools and solutions that fit with your hands and brain.

This should be a fun experience. Let’s have a few laughs while being safe and creative!
